Point: We often overestimate what God plans accomplish in us and through us in the short term but underestimate what God plans accomplish in us and through us in the long term.
Scripture: Exodus 23:27-30, Luke 2:52, Joshua 14:10-11, 1 Corinthians 13:12-13
Questions:
1. Read Exodus 23:27-30. How does if feel to know you have been promised something but you aren’t going to get it right away? Does it feel like the promise has been broken?
2. Read Joshua 14:10-11. In verse 10 Caleb is talking about God Keeping His promise 45 years later. What promises from God or vision for your life do you feel may take a while?
3. Read Matthew 2:52. Jesus the son of God had to increase in wisdom, stature and favor with God and man until he was 30 years old before He moved into His purpose to die for our sins. Why do we think we should move into God’s promises for us without waiting?
4. Read 1 Corinthians 13:12-13. When we get to heaven we will finally really know ourselves. How alike is who you are today to who you will be in Heaven?
5. What are some promises or vision for your life that you feel are from God? What are you willing to do to help ensure they happen?
